We start your Scottish experience at Highland Safaris, where you can learn about local wildlife, visit the deer park and feed the Red Deer.
Next, we visit the impressive 16th century Castle Menzies, the seat of the Clan Menzies. Enjoy the hour long tour of the castle, which hosted Bonnie Prince Charlie on his way to the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
We then travel to the Loch Tay area, where we will stop for a lunch break before we explore this beautiful area. After lunch we visit the famed Fortingall Yew that stands in the local church yard – a mighty tree over 3,000 years old and Europe’s oldest living resident - the Iron Age Crannog, local Standing Stones and experience spectacular views across Loch Tay. This is one of Perthshire’s largest Lochs, surrounded by the Southern Highlands; if the views are clear you may see Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the area.
We then travel to Aberfeldy Whisky Distillery, home to Dewars, to enjoy the Dewars World of Whisky Tour. Discover Dewar's authentic Scotch experience in the heart of the Highlands and hear the extraordinary tale of John Dewar & Sons.
For those who do not wish to visit the Distillery we recommend a fabulous alternative; a visit to the famous Highland Chocolatier based in Grandtully. Here you can visit their exhibition, peruse the shop and enjoy a hot drink and cake in the café; paradise for the chocoholic and a great end to your day out!
